Content warning: this book contains adult themes, harsh language, and graphic content and descriptions that might be disturbing to some readers.
Confessions by L.M. Mountford is an erotic novel that is enticing, enthralling, and enjoyable to read. I really like the author’s style and way of telling stories, especially ones that involve the gritty details in sex scenes. This book is definitely not for everyone, but if you find yourself to be intrigued after this review, click on the links below!
The story is about a young, successful actress, Mina Carring, who must face her secrets in order to move forward in life. She had and intimate past with her step-brother that she now must come to terms with in her own way.
I appreciated the content warning with this book. I found some of the scenes to be triggering for me, which led me to skip through the descriptions of the events, where there were most likely statements of affirmation or consent. I think I was adequately warned of this nature of the book, and I still for the most part enjoyed reading it: it was captivating, well-written, erotic. I just have issues with questionable consent in stories that reflects the real world all too well, namely that the guys get what they want at the expense of the gal.
All in all, this is quite the erotic read, complete with various sexual pairings and groupings. If you’re looking for a book that includes some taboo topics, dirty talk and name-calling, this may be the coming-of-age erotic book for you!
