Review: Smokin’ Hot Firemen

Firemen are sexy. Is it the suspenders? Is it the selflessness? The soot? Perhaps its the combination of all these things that makes firemen highly desirable sexual icons. According to a survey conducted by Psychology Today, firemen were ranked as the top romantic fantasy. Smokin’ Hot Firemen: Erotic Romance Stories for Women, edited by Delilah Devin, details stories about firemen and the sexy situations they get into, all while saving lives and risking their own. Firefighters are not just real heroes, they are our neighbors, our mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers. They are our friends, and they fight battles on our behalf.

Jo Davis, author of the foreword, put it eloquently with this quote:

Firefighters are a slice of Americana, dynamic men and women who represent the heart of what makes our country so great. When everyone else is running away from danger, they run straight into it to save us. No matter the cost.

This book was an enjoyable read because each story was unique and a delight. Some stories were serious and passionate, others were lighthearted and funny. In Shoshanna Evers’ piece, Falling Ashes, a woman fears her fireman is gone for good without them ever expressing their true feelings for one another. Once reunited, they enjoy a passionate, primal fuck outside in the dark, allowing them to appreciate their precious time together. Delilah Devlin’s piece, Johnny Blaze, is about a firefighter stripper who the main character lusts after. This piece is fun and dirty; readers can squirm along with Bridget as she is in for the birthday of a lifetime. Hook Me Up, by Adele Dubois is a new spin-off of a classic firemen tale: a firefighter has to save not only a scared kitten from a tree, but he also has to save the owner who got stuck in the tree herself.

She ran her finger over the smooth red paint and followed Jonah to the back of the room. When the scent of fresh wax reached her nostrils, erotic images of this bad boy taking her up against the truck set a low moan rumbling in the depths of her throat.

“You okay, sweetheart?” Jonah asked, but everything in the way he looked at her told her he knew all about her secret fetish.

Unable to find her voice, she nodded and her feet stilled as she sucked in a quick, sharp breath. A firm hand closed over hers and tugged, setting her back into motion. The soft lights fell over their bodies, but she didn’t miss the mischievous grin curling Jonah’s lips as he wound one thumb around his suspenders.

It made her wonder what he was going to do with them.

He led her to the back of the truck, to where all the fire- fighting gear hung on hooks. The great care he took in hanging his jacket told her how thorough those deft hands of his would be with her body. As she considered that further, he unhooked his suspenders and met her glance.

“Hold these for me, would you?”

Jonah placed the stretchy suspenders in her outstretched arms, and before she even realized what he was doing, he had her hands wrapped in the straps and tied behind her back.
“Jonah,” she rushed out, breathless. “What…what are you doing?”

“It’s like this, Mrs. Morgan,” he began as he backed her up and hooked the suspenders to the truck. “I’ve wanted you for a very long time, and now that I have you right where I want you,

I don’t plan on letting you go anytime soon.”

Delilah tugged on the binding only to find it secure. It quickly occurred to her that this man had her captive, his to do with as he pleased. His glance moved up and down her body, a slow, leisurely inspection that had her burning from the inside out.

He ran the back of his hand along her curves, groaned deep, and wet his lips before adding, “There are so many things I want to do to you.”

Oh God, there were so many things she wanted him to do to her, too. But she wasn’t sure about the suspenders. No one had ever tied her up before.

Before she could give it another thought, Jonah sank to his knees. Need gathered in the pit of her stomach as he gripped her legs to widen them.
