The Toyfriend Seti looks like a mini satellite for your clitoris–and in a way, it is. This blue, handheld vibrator has a flared tip that actually increases the surface area stimulated by the toy. This increased functionality for clitoral pleasure, however, also limits its potential other uses, rendering it–for me, at least–an exclusively external toy.

One feature to be appreciated about it is that the handle is a comfortable length to be held while masturbating, even when using it in conjunction with another vaginal or anal toy. It is 7.5 inches long and made of body-safe silicone. The Seti has two vibration speeds and three vibration modes to choose from. Operating the toy is really easy: the end button needs pressed to go through the 5 settings. To turn it off the button needs to be pressed and held in a few seconds.

I like how the Toyfriends are designed: they are velvety-smooth toys with bright, bold colors and interesting shapes. As with the other Toyfriends I own, I want to display the Seti, admire it, and use it. While I really enjoy the Toyfriend brand and appreciate their approach to making toys, the Seti just doesn’t do it for me.

I find the Seti to be less successful for me because of two main reasons that are connected. Firstly, the Seti has such a flared tip that I cannot insert it vaginally, hence it must only be used clitorally for me. Secondly, this is limiting because I prefer to stimulate my clitoris with my fingers rather than with vibrators. While I would like to be more accommodating, I haven’t met a vibrator that makes me want to change my ways. I have enjoyed using this vibrator in conjunction to a vaginal toy, but I find that it takes much longer to orgasm this way, and I don’t see myself doing it often.

Not to hate on Ben Wa balls, but I found them to be disappointing–they are tiny marble-sized balls that sit inside your vagina. That’s it. Sometimes they even fall out. Plus they are hard to really feel. (Review to come!) But smart balls, on the other hand, you can feel while they sit inside your vagina, mainly because they are larger balls. Smart balls and Ben Wa balls are not exactly the most erotic of sex products; they are really much more like exercise products that happen to be covered in lube and vaginal juice. Plus, there are actual exercises that you can actively do with the balls to more quickly notice the PC muscles strengthening and to enable you to take a more proactive role in kegelcise rather than simply wearing smart balls around the house, town, what have you.

Enter a new brand of smart balls, Velvet Plush: the ultimate Kegel Kit by Icon Brands. This is their take on what is soon becoming a classic niche of sex toys. This kit comes with three differently weighted balls and two harnesses. The balls are color-coded, the lightest shade being the lightest weight, medium shade is the medium weight, and the darkest shade the heaviest weighted ball. The balls have smaller weights in them that jiggle around, which is largely what you’ll feel while wearing them. These materials have a smooth texture to them, which makes inserting them with lubricant comfortable.

I will say that I most often just pop in the smart balls and wear them around for an hour or so. I am sure the benefits are more quickly noticeable with the exercises. One of the other main reasons I enjoy wearing them is because they are actively, minimally stimulating my vagina. While this doesn’t mean I am constantly aroused with them popped in, it means I can more easily become aroused. Add a butt plug to the mix and voila! You have a rather content Geeky.

To get an idea, toning the PC (pelvic floor) muscles is what one does when voluntarily stopping the flow of urine. The benefits of strong, toned PC muscles are numerous. It is said to help in vaginal birthing, incontinence, and stronger orgasms, to name a few. People of all sexes can benefit from having toned PC muscles.

Icon describes its 6-step system on the Kegel Kit’s packaging:

• Week 1- Light: Place the lightest kegel ball only (light-purple) in the single-ball harness and wear it for one hour per day for seven consecutive days.
  
• Week 2- Medium: Switch to medium ball, colored medium purple, and repeat..one hour per day for seven consecutive days.
• Week 3- Heavy: Switch to heaviest ball, in dark purple and repeat; one hour per day for seven days.
• Week 4- L/M: Switch to the two-ball harness, insert the light and medium balls; wear one hour per day for seven days.
• Week 5: L/H: In two-ball harness, insert the light and heavy balls; repeat timeframe.
• Week 6: M/H: Also in two-ball harness, insert the medium and heavy balls; repeat timeframe.

This kit has ABS plastic balls with silicone casing. The balls have a seam across them, and there are smaller weighted beads inside of the shell. The balls each weigh approximately 1.4 ounces, 1.9 ounces and 2.6 ounces. The insertable length is 2.25 inches for the single harness and 4.25 inches for the double harness. Do not use these balls anally.

I do not think the balls are boilable, but they can be cleaned with soap and water, toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution. The harnesses are made of silicone and also have a seam across them. I performed a flame test to these harnesses to see if they were a higher percentage of silicone, and the harnesses did not melt. While the flame test is not infallible, it is a good initial indicator that these harnesses are body safe. I believe they themselves are boilable, but can also be cleaned in the same ways as the balls.

While I don’t necessarily care for the color scheme of these balls, I think the kit is decent. The fact that the balls can be swapped to create lighter and heavier sets adds some versatility to the product. Taking the balls out and putting them back in the harnesses is rather easy to do because the harnesses are very flexible. I think they are a great size too. I have heard from some that the Je Joue set (linked below) can be a bit too small and heavy, which causes them to more easily pop out. I can also imagine Fun Factory’s set might be on the large side for some people. This Kegel Kit is a medium size, and they sit comfortably inside my vagina throughout my time wearing them.

In conclusion, I was pleased with the performance of this set. I don’t care for the seams on the balls and harnesses, nor the pink-purple color scheme. I do see myself using these balls regularly. I was very pleased to see the harnesses held up to a flame test too.

As far as smart balls are concerned, I have also reviewed Je Joue Ami, Fun Factory’s Teneo Duo, and Kandi and OhMiBod’s Hold on to Me kegel kits.

The Tracey Cox line at Lovehoney created a rabbit vibrator with a chic design, likely inspired by the “classic” Vibratex rabbit vibrators of yore. This is a good thing, because the rabbit vibe featured on Sex and the City is porous and icky–besides, it’s a hideous opaque pink. As you can see in the image above, this rabbit is aesthetically pleasing. This product meets my criteria of quality in that it is non-toxic, non-porous, and it has several nice vibration and rotation settings that have a moderate noise level and power level, which I’ll discuss below.

I feel like a rabbit vibe is one of those classic toys that I need to at least try for myself to be able to talk about how it works for me. This is mainly because in the realm where sex toys aren’t discussed much, many people have heard of the rabbit vibe and the Hitachi Magic Wand. So I think it’s important for me to tell you about my experiences using this Lovehoney rabbit vibe.

Firstly, let me say that I think the idea of the rabbit vibrator is a good one, but I think that the execution is poor. What I mean is that a rabbit vibrator is geared for simultaneous clitoral and G-spot stimulation (a TWO-FER!), and that is a terrific idea. However, this rabbit (and I’d guess most other rabbit vibes) doesn’t succeed in stimulating either things, let alone both at once. The vibrations are pleasant, rather quiet (for being powered by 3 AAA batteries), and have several intensity and pulsation settings. However, these are not enough to get me off via clitoral stimulation. I found myself pushing the rabbit’s tip to the side so I could rub my clitoris with my fingers instead.

Then it comes to the G-spot stimulation. The shaft of the rabbit has a twirl motion with three settings. Twirl? What? Think of twirling your finger and this is the motion the rabbit’s shaft does. The only really discernible difference among the three rotations is that the noise level increases. While using this toy, I cannot feel a notable difference among the settings–and I don’t get any pleasure from them.

Having said that, my thought was that since the tip and shaft are working to stimulate my body, rabbit vibes are meant to be stationary while in use. A stationary rabbit is a disappointing rabbit, but so is a thrusting one. The tip of the shaft is too small and flimsy to hit my G-spot well. I think that if the shaft was firmer and/or perhaps slightly longer or curved, it would hit my G-spot better. As-is, it doesn’t twirl enough to stimulate my G-spot, nor to give me any notable internal pleasure.

So, for me? No orgasms from using the Tracey Cox Rabbit.

First point: This curved, stainless steel dildo is amazing. The Pure Wand has the perfect curve that follows the contour my vagina, almost too perfectly, because at times I crave more friction and resistance with dildo shapes and textures. When it presses against my G-spot, it presses hard with its 1.5 pounds of badass stainless steel. It feels great and is really easy to use, except for the slight resistance getting into the vagina initially and the fact that once you pop you can’t stop. (Pringles reference! They should pay me.) I never want to stop using this dildo once I start, and every time I use it I am pleasantly reminded. The Pure Wand is made for G-spot stimulation, and with the large, heavy ball at the end, how could it miss?  This is my favorite toy yet.

Second point: I didn’t heed Epiphora’s warning to put towels down before trying the Pure Wand out, and I very much regretted not doing so. I seriously soaked my bedding down to the mattress. Oi. So, be warned, this toy can and will cause you to gush fluids. More fluids than you could ever anticipate imagine.

Third point: While this is a simple, solid metal dildo, it makes my vagina queef noisily more than anything else ever. Using this toy is not discreet at times because it unabashedly makes my vagina make sounds I hadn’t thought were possible at such a volume. This amuses me almost as much as fart jokes. Granted, the Pure Wand makes me queef easily because I once I start thrusting with this toy, I don’t want to stop until I become a soaked, sweaty pile of exhaustion and bliss. Queefing is inevitable. Queef.

I really like how cool the metal feels when I first insert this dildo. The Pure Wand is long enough to hold firmly and comfortably. The handle end has a smaller ball on it (which is also insertable) and this helps you grasp it. It never slips out of my hand as my juices never reach that far down the Wand. The heaviness of this toy is ideal for exercising my PC muscles too.

I chose this attachment to try with the Hitachi as an anal toy. I stretched it over the Hitachi’s head, put a condom over it entirely, lubed it up and inserted it anally. This was difficult. The beaded protrusion is way too short to fit comfortably between my butt cheeks let alone be long enough to really go into my anus past the sphincter muscles. On top of the shortness limitation, it was too flimsy and squishy to achieve successful penetration. Anal beads themselves can pose a problem with inserting them anally because they are squishy, but this attachment was a real pain in the ass (hah) to insert because I also had to hold onto the heavy, bulky, corded Hitachi while doing so. I felt that it wasn’t worth the struggle, and it was seriously a struggle. I looked ridiculous trying to do this, as you can surely imagine. This would be easier to insert into someone else’s anus.

This beaded wand attachment was less disappointing with vaginal insertion because it was easier to operate alone. It was still not very pleasurable; the fact that I could insert the small beaded shaft into my vagina more easily did not provide me with any notable pleasure. Its flimsiness and size did not significantly enhance the experience of using the Hitachi. The attachment’s protrusion had limited functionality.

However, one feature I found useful was that I used the beaded shaft to move my vaginal juices up to my clitoris. This was extremely useful for reapplying lubricant to my labia, which is  great because if I do not lubricate well enough, the irritation my genitals experience is really quite painful. Additionally, I found that pressing the beaded shaft against my clitoris was also better than using the Hitachi alone, because it dampened the vibrations just enough to delay irritation.

This was a success, albeit a small one that can be achieved by other wand attachments too.

This beaded wand attachment is said to have the following features:

Because I thought this product was silicone due to being mislabeled, I performed a flame test to determine if this toy was 100% silicone. I did this by holding a flame at the base of this toy to see what the reaction was. Because this product melted, it is not a food or medical grade silicone, meaning it is porous to some degree. This remains true being TPR: it is a porous material. Due to this finding, if you own this attachment, I would recommend using condoms with this product to ensure maximum safety. While you can wash this toy with soap and water, it cannot be disinfected. Often materials that are porous can also be toxic, but this isn’t always the case. Because this beaded attachment doesn’t have an odor or an icky feel to it, I think it is non-toxic.

As you can see, the material melted along the rim.

One of the reasons I want an attachment for my Hitachi is because the Hitachi head is also porous, meaning that it can harbor bacteria over time and can pose a health risk in the future. As this attachment is also porous, then it poses the same problem and same health risk.

The packaging for this toy was a Lovehoney white cardboard box, which I liked. It was not offensive, excessive or tacky. No storage container came with this beaded wand attachment.

I received the Hitachi Magic Wand as a gift from a lovely reader out in the interwebs. Talk about a wonderful surprise! Thank you!

I have known of the Hitachi for a few years now, and while it has been gushed over by many folks (pun always intended), I admit, I was skeptical at first. My long track record of clitoral orgasms have been vastly accomplished by my hand rather than any toy, vibrator, or other person.

Be warned: the Hitachi is powerful–it runs on electricity. It has two settings and even its LOW setting is at least twice as powerful as most battery-operated clitoral vibrators or other massage wands out on the market. While this power is also its identifying feature, I warn you that it can be harmful as well. The Hitachi can, and in many cases will, irritate your genitals.

My first encounter with the Hitachi resulted in pain. The irritation caused me to seriously freak out. No joke. I did not use the Hitachi with any lubricant on my vulva, and I did not place any towel barriers in-between my genitals and the Hitachi as padding protection. Lube up, and then lube up some more. This will help protect your vulva from getting irritated as quickly by the sheer intensity of this wand. If your clitoris is sensitive, then try using bath towels as barriers.

My follow-up encounters with the Hitachi resulted in milder pain (irritation) at times, but mostly incredible, crazy-intense pleasure. I don’t even use the Hitachi for more than a minute or two, and once it hits, I just want more. But then I get so hyper-sensitive that I can barely stand to use the wand for any longer. And then I still hang on for a few more seconds, because I am a glutton for punishment.

The Hitachi is very simply a tool used to get off, and it’s great at what it does. If I need a powerful orgasm, I use it, then put it away for a week or two. It’s good that the orgasms are quick with the Hitachi, because the longer you use it in one go, the more guaranteed irritation is going to happen. I don’t recommend maintaining genital contact for over a few minutes straight, if you can help it, and especially if your genitals get irritated.

Getting worn out is guaranteed from the sheer strength of the orgasms, and the more frequently you use it, the more desensitized your genitals/clitoris may feel. This is a temporary reaction, and the same can be said for masturbating in general too much. If it takes longer for you to orgasm, take a break from it–be it a few hours, days, weeks–and then have at it again. If you wait a few days in-between rounds using the Hitachi, your clitoris will respond more readily to its vibration.

For me, ideal usage would be at MOST weekly. While the Hitachi warrants a certain level of awareness, I am certainly not surprised when I hear that it helps many people achieve powerful orgasms, regardless of their usual masturbatory methods or preferences. I prefer using the Hitachi in conjunction with a dildo inserted vaginally; I like having both the G-spot and clitoris stimulated simultaneously.

The Hitachi is large and bulky with limited functionality–it is for external use only unless you purchase an attachment. The head is porous, so it can harbor bacteria.

Heed my warnings, but do I think it’s worth trying a Hitachi Magic Wand? Yes, I do. Have I had as intense orgasms through other means of stimulation? Yes I have, but they have taken much longer to achieve.

This massager has two settings labeled as “low” and “high.”  The head is a removable, smooth silicone sleeve, and the wand itself is plastic, with the battery compartment at the end. It requires 2 AA batteries, which are not included. The wand measures at 9.25 inches in length, and a base width of 1.05 inch–it is really quite lightweight and easy to use with one hand, even for a long period of time. The wand is firm, but the head is flexible and can be bent to a slight degree. The wand is waterproof and submersible, allowing for bath and shower play capabilities.

This product is made of materials (silicone, hard ABS plastic) that are non-porous, phatalates-free, and latex-free. While there are some pesky crevices that are difficult to clean, and the silicone head collects dust and fuzzies quickly, it is easy enough to keep clean. The wand can be cleaned with toy cleaner spray, a 10% bleach-to-water solution, or warm soapy water. 

Since many of you know of the Hitachi or have tried it, I will compare this Tracey Cox Massage Wand with it. I think that it is a blessing and a curse that this wand is not as powerful as the Hitachi, and let me tell you why. Firstly, you can use this wand for a longer period of time without running the risk of irritating your genitals. Applying water-based lubricant to my vulva became more optional (although still suggested) when using this wand, whereas it is more of a necessity with the Hitachi, in preventing irritation. If you need to place a towel in-between your privates and the Hitachi, you would be able to enjoy this wand with direct stimulation.

Secondly, the high setting seems to be about half as powerful as Hitachi’s low setting. The vibrations are much

Finally, there’s the noise. The Hitachi is too powerful for discreetness; it’s never quiet. This Wand, however is much quieter simply because it is less powerful. The low setting is quiet, and the high setting is closer to a medium toy noise level. Since I am hyper-sensitive about noise levels, I can happily say I’m pleased with this toy’s bang for the buck. Er, what I mean is the noise-levels are worth its levels of intensity, and allow for a relatively quiet solo session.weaker and so if you are trying to have a clitoral orgasm through primarily vibrations, it may take a bit longer to achieve this–which in my opinion can be a good and bad thing. This Wand will get the juices flowing, and prolong your masturbation session. (Whereas the Hitachi is good for really quick, powerful orgasms.)

Another benefit of this Wand over the Hitachi is that it is battery operated, although it would be even better if it was rechargeable. The luxury that is cordlessness cannot be emphasized enough.

Shipping was discreet. The packaging is not horribly tacky as you can determine/see for yourself above.  Another simple feature I loved about this wand is that it came with a storage case! And it’s blue! Ah, the simple joys in life.

To sum it up, this is a massager that I enjoyed using for clitoral stimulation. The bendy head allows you to maximize the surface area in contact with your body. The fact that it’s waterproof, non-porous, and comes with a storage case makes it that much more worthwhile. If you enjoy continual vibrations for masturbating, you can’t go wrong with a massager wand. I enjoyed using this product for clitoral as well as nipple play. It’s ideal for slower progressions to orgasms. Slow and steady wins the race, eh?
